Notice to Individuals on Video Surveillance at the Location Hotel Belmur

At the location of Hotel Belmur, video surveillance is conducted in accordance with applicable legislation to ensure the safety of employees and guests, monitor entry and exit in or out of business premises, protect company property and business secrets, and ensure fire safety. The specific purposes of the video surveillance are outlined in the resolution on the introduction of video surveillance.

  • Monitoring entry and exit in or out of business premises

Types of Personal Data Processed:

  • Image recording of the individual without sound
  • Location, time, and date of the recording
  • Time of entry and exit or movement in the monitored area

Legal Basis for the Processing of Personal Data:

  • Video surveillance at the entrances to buildings and business premises (Article 77 ZVOP-2)
  • Video surveillance within working premises (Article 78 ZVOP-2)
  • Video surveillance in public areas (Article 80 ZVOP-2)
  • Legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
  • Company’s resolution on the introduction and expansion of video surveillance

Explanation of Legitimate Interests:

By implementing video surveillance, we prevent potential property damage within the hotel or its surroundings, such as theft, burglary, and vandalism. Video surveillance also helps prevent other situations that could in any way harm employees, guests, or the hotel’s infrastructure and its surroundings.

Users of Personal Data:

Authorized personnel of the controller in accordance with internal regulations.

Categories of Users to Whom Personal Data Has Been or May Be Disclosed:

  • Employees of the contract processor (i.e., external software or video surveillance system maintenance service provider)
  • Police and other entities demonstrating appropriate legal grounds

Information on Transfers of Personal Data to a Third Country or International Organization:

Personal data is not transferred to third countries or international organizations.

Duration of Personal Data Processing:

Recordings are stored for at least 60 days (depending on the disk capacity at the location).

Live Image Viewing:

Access to the live image is enabled for preventive purposes to ensure the prevention of danger to people and property and to ensure fire safety. Only live image viewing is conducted. The option for audio intervention is available only by pressing the button on the intercom. Access is granted only to an authorized person who can prevent danger.

Further Processing:

The export and review of recordings in the event of damage or suspicion of a criminal offense to clarify the circumstances of the incident, and their forwarding may only be carried out to competent institutions. Forwarding can only occur on the basis of justified and legitimate legal grounds. Collected data is not used for automated decision-making or profiling of individuals.

The processing of personal data is neither a legal nor a contractual obligation.

Rights of Individuals Regarding the Processing of Personal Data:

Individuals have the right to information (notice that cameras are present and that recording is taking place), which must be displayed in a visible place, the right to access data (viewing of the recording), the right to correction and deletion (“forgetting”), the right to restrict processing, and the right to object. The rights are not absolute and are handled on a case-by-case basis. Applications may be submitted via email to info@belmur.si.
